Pak One Health Alliance in close coordination with the Policy & Strategic Planning Unit of Primary & Secondary Healthcare, Punjab, and University of Health Sciences, Lahore organized a three day (October 27-29, 2021) “Training of the Trainers Workshop for One Health – Event Based Surveillance System” at University of Health Sciences, Lahore. All the potential stakeholders/departments from Punjab nominated their relevant officers for this workshop. While inaugurating the workshop Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, Vice-Chancellor, UHS highlighted the importance of the One Health and EBS surveillance system to manage the future threats of any pandemics.

Dr. S.M. Mursalin, CEO – POHA, Dr. Asad Zaheer, Registrar-UHS, Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Program Director – PSPU, Dr. Sana Iftikhar Consultant – EBS, Dr. M. Shakeel Khaliq, Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Punjab, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Gondal Director DHIS, DOH Punjab, and Dr. M. Imran Arshad from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad was the Lead Facilitators of this Workshop. Dr. Carrie McNeil, One Health Specialist, and Dr. Jas Mantero, EBS Coordinator from Ending Pandemics also addressed the participants through their recorded videos and answered the questions through virtual participation.
All the participants appreciated the organization of such an important and beneficial workshop on the subject of One Health – EBS surveillance.
